DEDICATION DALLAS COLUMBUS FLOWERS Dallas Columbus Flowers, affectionately and popularly known as Uncle Lum, was, atthe time of his death in 1941, Chairman of the Oak Hill School Board. For more thana quarter of acentury Uncle Lum was one of the Schoo1's staunchest friends and supporters. A generous bene- factor, he gave the School much in time, money, and land. These things, however, do not represent his greatest contribution, forit was his spirit of ser- vice and unfaltering faith in the potential of youth and his desire that every child should have an opportunity to secure an education that permeated and motivated the life of this school for many years. In these he was greatest. In humble recognition of his contribution to the educational life of this community and to Caldwell County, we dedicate to him this volume of The Oak Log.
