Boy’s Cross Country Alex and Fred stretch our. You mean we get to run inside today?! We worch the Richard Simmon's Show! This book's for you. Boy's Cross Country! As the seemingly endless days of summer practice evaporated into the crisp, cold running of lore October, the 1982 Boy's Cross Country Team recorded yet another season of competition. At its start in August, the team combined five returning letter- winners with six beginners who would attempt inter-scholastic distance running for the first time. At its conclusion, the combina- tion proved successful — the team's 16-2 dual meet record marked the most victories in one season for a Rocket Cross Country Team. Individual performers also excelled: Fred Arriaga and Bob Mercer achieved 2nd Team S.L.L.; Mike Morse earned Most Im- proved; and John McHole captured 1st Team S.L.L. honors os well os top recognition for being Most Valuable Runner. 1982 soys good-bye to four senior runners — John McHole, Bob Mercer, Arnold Reaper, and Brod Metcalf — with a solute to their leadership and some thoughts of good luck! — Cooch Huffman — Where did my ream go? Girls Cross Country The Girl's Cross Country Teom hod o good seoson placing fourrh in the league and fifth or sectionals. They sent Amy Macko, Julie West, ond Mary Everett to Districts. The ream hod talent, bur because most of the ream was young, they gained valuable experience by going to Districts. Amy Macko, a freshman, was the most valuable runner. Julie West was the most improved. Amy Hemminger also improved to help the team os a fifth runner. The team is losing the leadership of Jill Hoover, who has been with the teom since it started in 1980. This book's for you.
