Summer Camps Various camps were held this summer for sports ond cheerleading activities. Volleyball camp was held at Ohio Northern University. Sandy Schwartz, Jacki Harder, Mary Hueske and Shelly Hanny attended this camp. Boys' basketball camps were held at Ohio University, Ohio Northern University and Dennison University. Members from Oak Har- bor's basketball team that attended were: Dave Weirich, Doak Pfaff, Dennis Schiets, Dan Weirich, Mike Thorbahn, Dan Christie, Don Christie and Steve Connell. Several girls attended girls' basketball camps this summer. There were camps at Toledo University, Ohio Northern University, and Earlham College in Indiana. Kelly Kretz, Michele Burmeister, Gretchen Platzke, Jill Nobel, Carrie Tomor and Melinda Wrigley went to these camps. Varsity cheerleading camp was held at Ohio Stare University. Laurie Krasniewski, Lucy Rodenhauser, Mary Kreager, Linda Dewitz, Ann Windisch and Debbie Rickner attended this camp. Reserve cheerleaders went to J.V. camp at Bluffron College. Karen Gray, Sue Avers, Sherry Graber, Lisa Wirt, Suellen Sondwisch and Connie Seivert represented our school at this camp. Go fish. Dovid!! All dressed up ond no ploce ro go .. . There ore mixed emotions obour going home. San Antonio Texas The Alomo. o populor spot in Son Antonio. On August 10, 1982, 89 Luther Leaguers and sponsors from the Oak Harbor area left from Detroit Metro Airport for Son An- tonio, Texas for a Notional Youth Gathering. Approximately 16,000 Luther Leaguers from Lutheran churches oil over the United States attended. Youth from St. Paul's Oak Harbor, St. John's Pocky Ridge, Colvory Lutheran Toledo, ond Huron joined with St. John's Oak Horbor ro form the largest single group attending the Convention. The group stayed in the Hilton Hotel in Son Antonio which wos across the street from the Convention Center. After arriv- ing. they rook o 2Vi hour tour of Son Antonio including the Lone Sror Brewery, The Alamo, ond downtown Son Antonio. Every doy there were sessions or the Convention Center arena. At night there were programs to attend and fiestas to enjoy. Everyone hod a chonce ro meet many people and moke new friends.
