Charles Smith Interested students have the oppor- tunity to take a full four-year course in math. Algebra I, geometry, and advanced algebra compose the first three years. Two semesters of math, consisting of trigonometry and modern math are of- fered to the seniors. In modern math, a recent addition to our curriculum, the students learn by teaching each other. The teacher is there to give assistance when needed. A general math course is offered to those students not wishing to take alge- bra. Academics Since high school life is centered mainly around studies, a well-planned academic program is a necessity for each student. Every student should plan his courses around the type of work he decides to enter after graduation. With this basic background in his chosen field, he will be better fit to reach his goals in the future. Teachers also play an important role in the studies of students. It is the duty of teachers to instruct and help each stu- dent to gain knowledge in some way or another.
