School newspapers are necessary to the education and progress of all schools. The Rocket Staff members have given school news through the columns of the paper. The Rocket, the official publication of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, is published bi-weekly. Published first in 1925, the Rocket has been improving a little each year. In May 1949, it received an excellent rating at the ninth annual Northwestern Ohio District Journalism Convention at Bowling Green. The Exponent office used to print the paper for the school but new it is mimeographed by staff members. Subscriptions this year number around 526. The staff members are chosen each spring for the coming year.
