DEDICATIC No one could be more a part of Oak Grove High School than Mrs. Mae Raney. After receiving her B. S. degree and teaching certificate, this alumna returned to her home school to begin her teaching career. Here she has remained a constant source of inspiration to the many typing and shorthand students who have been in her classes. Her untiring efforts in making the yearly Prom a success have won her an esteemed place in the hearts of the entire student body. As an expression of our ap- preciation for her integrity of character and years of devoted service, we affectionately dedicate to her this 1961 yearbook, THE TIGER.

FOREWORD The school should always have as its aim that the young man leave it as a harmonious personality, not as a specia1ist. Albert Einstein Everyone must attest to the validity of the reasoning for reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic being taught in the schoolroom. However, education in its widest sense includes everything that exerts a forma- tive influence on the young person. Boys and girls must be taught to think first of others, to learn the nobleness of forbearance, to disci- pline their feelings, to restrain their passions, and to live in harmony with the laws of God and man. During school years, open communication is established, new ac- quaintances are made, friendships are acquired, and impressions form- edwhich will eventually revert into nostalgic memories. Such reason- ing underlies our theme for 1961 - Building on the fourth 'R' fre- membrancesl.
