Q Hg As we came down through the clouds we found that we were over 3 If the African jungles, and who did we see but Don Hutson, the famous 2 Eg missionary, preaching to a crowd of Head Hunters. Slowing down to 2 jg agent 2 hundred mileilgn houg, we saw another familiar figure 5 5 a ou o cap ure a w e ep ant. t was none other than the 'one S ,Q and only' John Madsen, the big game hunter. Resuming speed we S QQ turned around to go over to the United States. As we crossed the E gi Atlantic, guess what we saw? Nothing else but a bridge across Q 2 Ehe Atlantic, engineered by Ernest Krahenbuhl. Then we passed 2 s ton Baxter test pilot for the Bill Borland Rocket Com an Q 7 I p yt 9 ,Q testing out one of Bllly Young's the famous draftsman fastest S 12 models. Gliding on over the United States and Missouri Cin S Q particularl, we came over some dairy farms, and soon we flew over 5 g one that looked like about fifteen hundred acres and had J. R. 5 Q Herman Farms painted on the barn roofs. Next we came to the farm 5 E of Raymond Green, the diversified farming specialist. What do we Q E see now? The mansion of Senator Robert Marble and the great 3 2 offices of W. W. Johnson now president of General Motors. Then 3 Q there was the executive type home of Mr. Richard Powell and the E Q former Betty Grayum. Richard is a co-partner of Wallace, and 5 Q president of Buick division of General Motors. They worked their 2 5 way up from '29 NChevey'sN to their present responsible positions. 2 3 Then we dropped down to Warrensburg and chatted with Mary Lee 3 E Graham, Dean of Women, and Kent Wheaton, president of the college. S 5 As we passed back over Bates City we saw the ranch of Leroy Q E Hayes and his family of athletes. On our way to the west coast 5 E we passed over some theaters belonging to the Colony Theater 2 E Industry owned by Pansy Axsom. As we swished over Oklahoma 2 f we paused for a moment's visit with Clara Canfield, a teacher in 3 fa the Oklahoma University, planning on retiring. She also owns 5 5 part interest in some oil wells with Gary Larson, who is planning S S to retire soon, too. Since we had stopped for an atomic pellet 5 Q in Texas for our engine we ran across the former Lorena Griffith 5 Q and her husband. You know, of course, that she is married to Q E General Cummins of the Air Force. Now we are over California and Q 5 the orange groves of Hollywood's play boy, Vernon Murry. Next 3 5 we came over the home of the great crooner, Eddie Hopper. 5 5 While there, we saw the famous movie actress, Joyce Pearson, and E Q Joan Mainard, model. Both are now employed by Hopper-Crosby E Pictures, Inc. 5 1 E - On our way back to Mars we stopped by the White House, in 2 5 Wgshinggoni Sngtvisited Phyllis Story, the first woman president 5 5 o e n e a es. 5 Q E E Q E lwritten by Wallace Johnson, Ernest Krahenbuhl, and Phyllis Story! 2 E' E E H ' E 2' , W 1 45' if , 'MN A A, ,gk M. ,4 aa,,i4.uf,k,a:fs. Much interest has been shown in the work of the organization lthe various projects completed! as well as in the regular programs and study courses. The serving of food during the Western Missouri Conference basketball tournament, which was held in Oak Grove, was our biggest money-raising project for the year. The money from this project was used in making further improvements in the kitchen. Parties for the various rooms and grades of the school have been sponsored throughout the year. Founders Day was observed with a very pretty and impressive service honoring the founders of the organization and the president and past-presidents of our group. Officers for the l9h9-1950 term were installed at the regular meeting on April 15. C t,..,.: 4 L Q.auH3gLZ1TJ....i1'ST . s'.Z'f.1Q2:i'11?.TES, 'W I Y?
