Good grief you are a lousy driver! Room H-61 houses the Orthopedic Club. The members try to encourage understanding between teachers and pupils of regular classes and orthopedic students. They feel that it is important to further encourage a realistic accept- ance of physical abilities in orthopedic students while still maintaining worthwhile ambitions. The club works outside of Wyatt to maintain a relationship with Concerned Youth for Cerebral Palsy in order to better inform the public of the needs, potentials and achievements of the orthopedi unit. The orthopedic club's school and social activities wen many and varied. They hosted a Christmas Buffet Progran for their parents as well as informal Birthday celebration for club members throughout the year. They worked in the elementary schools within the O. D. Wyatt district. By working everyday with the children they were able to help some of the individual children develop normally so they could become well adiusted members of society. It also provided our students with the chance to experience first hand what a teaching career would involve. I thought Ray Crowder was ca Senator! The Medical Careers Club was formed in order to bring together those students interested in the wide open field of medicine. They were exposed to many of these areas through a visit to Peter Smith School of Nursing for a stint of duty with a student nurse, a tour of the Radiation Center, and speeches by doctors from Harris Hospital. Their experiences helped them form opinions and direct their interests in the medical field. They made the days of people of all different ages a little brighter by their actions at Christmas. Scrapbooks that they had made, along with candy, was delivered to the children at Cook Hospital. A place of residence for people of the older genera- tion received baskets of fruit from the thoughtful members. The interest in others and the generosity shown to them by the members was appreciated. ,.......... Carmen Tawater rides again . . . and again . . . and again. Goat ropers need love too! The purpose of the Rodeo Club is to achieve greater skill in the equestrian art as well as to form better sportsmen and women through individual competition. They were a member of the North Texas High School Rodeo Association, which has a membership of over fifty schools. They competed in sanctioned rodeos for individ- ual points as well as team points. All were totaled towards the finals in May. Only the top fifteen in each event were eligible to go to these finals. By participation in these rodeos the club won many trophies to serve as reminders of the prowess of the Rodeo Club members of 1972-73. These winnings brought honor to the club as well as pride to O. D. Wyatt. In addition to participating in activities outside of Wyatt the club sponsored many of their own activities. A carwash and a radio raffle were among the money raising proiects. The main proiect of the club, the annual O. D. Wyatt Rodeo, was held on the ninth and tenth of February. The profits from this rodeo provided the funds neces- sary to hold their annual spring dance. The club had that spirit that only Wyatt students can have. They possessed an undying desire to be the best Rodeo Club around to enhance their self-esteem as well as O. D. Wyatt's. . . -::- , wx.
