They worked in the elementary schools within the O. D. Wyatt district. By working everyday with the children they were able to help some of the individual children develop normally so they could become well adiusted members of society. It also provided our students with the chance to experience first hand what a teaching career would involve. They were exposed to many of these areas through a visit to Peter Smith School of Nursing for a stint of duty with a student nurse, a tour of the Radiation Center, and speeches by doctors from Harris Hospital. Their experiences helped them form opinions and direct their interests in the medical field. They made the days of people of all different ages a little brighter by their actions at Christmas. Scrapbooks that they had made, along with candy, was delivered to the children at Cook Hospital. A place of residence for people of the older genera- tion received baskets of fruit from the thoughtful members. The interest in others and the generosity shown to them by the members was appreciated.
