Read a good book lately? Ex Libro, the school library club, is composed of students who work in the library during the school day as library assistants. To promote interest in and effective use of the school library is the purpose of Ex Libro. They strive to give the library a pleasing atmosphere in which students may work and read. The club was active in many of Wyatt's activities and worked hard for the improvement of Wyatt and its facilities. They participated in the Roadrunner Round-Up and donated several books to the library as one of their annual proiects. l i . The purpose of this organi- zation is to create an appreciation of an office occupation. The membership worked part time at office iobs throughout the city in addition to attending regula r classes. have to make? . . . 322!?!' Even though they had a busy schedule, these girls foun time to contribute a great deal to our school. They worke hard to prepare a room for 1972 Exes, on Homecomin Day. Keep That Spirit Up Wyatt Blues started the year in a spirited way by attending the first pep rally and yelling pre- dictions of victory. Throughout the year, this enthusiasm never ceased. They made locker decorations for the athletes' lockers and signs for the auditorium, formed a path of spirit on the football field for the team to run through, and dressed in blue uniforms on game days to demonstrate to all their support of Wyatt's vari- ous teams. Attendance awards for football, bas- ketball, track, and baseball were given to the girls at the conclusion of each sport. Their support of Wyatt extended beyond ath- letic competition. They participated in the Roa- drunner Round-up with a colorama and a raffle for a radio. Members took pride in decorating the west end of A hall in the traditional goal post design complete with yard lines, crowds, players, and slogans. This brought back memo- ries to both students and exes. Pick lt Up Wyatt Y, sponsored by the Young Women's Christian Association consisted of twenty girls concerned with the pollution of our commu- nity. They strove to improve our environment by periodi- cally holding cleanup cam- paigns. One such campaign was at Carter Park, which is near Wyatt's campus. Their annual camp-out, which was held at Whitney State Park, renewed their hope and determination to preserve our natural settings for all to enioy. I can't wait to go to the convention in San Antonio. F.T.A. become one of the most active organizations at Wyatt this year. The club sought to understand the teaching profes- sion - its rewards and its disappoint- ' ments. The membership totaled an enthusi- I astic forty-five. Their calendar of activities was full all year long with numerous social and service proiects. The day before school, they gave the faculty and administration a tea to wel- come them to the new school year. To involve themselves with the officers of the other clubs and help the others to be bet- ter leaders, they sponsored an Officers' Workshop. In service to the entire student body, the members sold and delivered red, white and pink carnations on February fourteenth. The club traveled to San Anto- N , R nio February twenty-third and fourth for the second state convention ever attended by Wyatt's F.T.A. The club felt more involved in the convention this year because they had a voting delegate and entries in the scrapbook, handbook and special proiects competition. Larry Rose and Terry Stewart represented Wyatt at district competition for Mr. and Miss F.T.A. Both Larry and Terry coveted the District Xl title making them candidates for the state- wide contest in San Antonio. The Installa- tion Banquet in the spring was second in excitement only to the convention. At that time the officers for the T973-74 school year were installed. The honored guests at the banquet were the nine teachers which had been selected as Teacher of the Month during the current year. The members of F.T.A. were exposed to a variety of situations. Through these exposures they were able to understand the impor- tance of an education. They realized that choosing to be teachers gave them the responsibility of educating the leaders of tomorrow.
