Subsequent sea tours included duty as First Livulienant in USS OKANOGAN QAPA 2201, Weapons Officer and later Executive Officer in USS 0'8ANNON QDO 4501, Weapons Officer in USS TOPEKA QCLG 81. Executive Officer in USS WADDELL QDDG 241 and Commissioning Com- manding Officer in USS DONALD B. BEARY QFF 10051 ln May of 1978 Captain GELKE took command of Desron Five.
