Since that writing Petty Officer Van Twuyver has 'left 1 'd e at Officer O BRIEN and taken up rest enc Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. Officer Candidate Van Twuyver did an outstanding job while onboard, not only in pitching in on our first Familygram, but also in helping his shipmates ready O'BRlEN for the myriad of events occurring before and after commissioning. We take pleasure in reproducing here, parts of a letter O. C. Van Twuyver recently sent to O'BRlEN's Commanding Officer: . .
