I FLEET INTRODUCTIONS TEAM I Established on 1 August 1973, the primary mission of the Fleet Introduction Team LFITJ SPRUANCE Class is one of providing training, administrative assistance, liaison, and other support for Prospective Commanding Officers and Commissioning Crews in order to facilitate an orderly and economic introduction of SPRUANCE Class Destroyers to the Fleet. FIT SPRUANCE, commanded by Captain Raymond J, Harbrecht, is composed of a headquarters staff and three separate teams - FIT I being one of these. These teams provide all the traditional functions of the Nucleus Crew including the monitoring of final construction progress and functional tests, development and provision of onboard documentation not otherwise provided for, preparation and loading of provisions and ship's store stock, representation on trials, quality assurance for correction of trial deficiencies, and indoctrination of the ship's crew upon arrival onboard.
