He was also actively involved with the eighth grade football team. Always ready to tell a joke with his quick wit, John, and his school spirit and devo- tion, will be missed by the students and faculty of O'MaI ey School. Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. Cheerleaders and pep club members have been screaming their lungs out to 'inform the freshman team of l a fumble, while always making sure that the person with the pigskin is on their O'Maley team before they yell we want a touchdown! But what style!! The Shamrocks have been s taking breath-taking leaps for interceptions, while at the same time, they have been making sure that all rushing is done in the right direc- tion. Great speed and agility has given the team a spectacular season. No team of opposition, with the exception of Salem and Saugus, has scored against the squad. Dazzling the specta- tors with great moves, the quarterback and the offensive line managed to scramble away end- lessly to complete passes. The coaches have also slave-driven the defense relentlessly to insure the opposition of never getting into a position to score. Fine individual play by Brian Cusick, Mark Elwell, Dick Legendre, Marc Palazola, - and Rich Smith gave the Shamrocks an extra edge. 0'Maley's overall record of 7-2 rightly gives the coaches and the team a feat of which to be proud. Performing publicly, the chorus hosts a winter concert, a spring concert, a school recital, and a talent show. The talent show features soloists, talented mu- sicians, guitarists, pianists, and rock groups. The past holiday season added a new credit to this list of achievements. From the North Shore Shopping Center, the chorus sang Christmas carols for station W.B.Z. Without the chorus, there would not be music in the air at 0'lVlaley School. The 1975-1976 Student Congress is governed by Alison Moody, president, Bill Tomer, vice president, Teresa Gove, secretary, and Laurie Thompson, treasurer. Along with these officers, the homeroom representatives speak for the remainder of the student body. In addition to many sub-committees that deal with specific legislation, a public relations committee was formed to deal with the public. This year the Congress initiated the institution ofa submarine sandwich line in the cafeteria. Utilizing money raised from a magazine drive, the Congress is able to sponsor dances, to award trophies for academic and sports excellence, and to contribute donations to needy groups, such as the yearbook and the library. This concerned group of student law-makers provides O'Maley School students with those enjoyable littIe extras. Working diligently night and day, students have attempted to make the con- stant up and coming deadlines. Gathering pertinent information, identifying miniscule photo- graphs, selling advertisements, and creating layout to the advisor's perfection has caused more than one trauma! Per- forming above and beyond their required duties, the foremost four, Jessica Payne, Amy Puff, Barbara Carey, and Anne Buck- ley dedicated themselves to the task of producing this yearbook. The staff is INDEBTED to yearbook photographer, Joseph McCormack, who, by develop- ing photographs, by soaring high in the sky to capture aerial shots, and by traipslng around the city and the campus to shoot candids, has made this yearbook so successful. Other members who helped produce this year's catalogue of events are Eve Bowles, Heather Dyett, Linda Goebel, Amy Greer, Sue Kenyon, Laurel Lake, Lynn Mason, Lisa McRae, Lisa No- vak, Scott St. Cyr, David Tay- lor, Scott Taylor, and Greg Wostrel.
