BEST WISHES FROM HIS GRACE BISHOP SAVARYN Dear Graduates: You leave O ' Leary High School to take your position on the battle¬ field of life. At the high school, you have received an intensive aca¬ demic and moral training. Now you enter the ranks of adulthood pre¬ pared for even the most formidable com!at. The Christian principles with which you have become imbued will be insolently challenged. But, being strong in Faith and armed with the weapons of prayer and frequent reception of the Sacraments, you are certain to withstand even the most bitter, prolonged attack. Wherever you go, whatever you do, radiate goodness and truth. As refined young men and women be ever conscious of the lofty ideals of Christian manhood and womanhood. In the fulfillment of your vocation, be what it may, be an ardent follower of Christ. I extend nsy sincerest congratulations to you and may God bless you most generously and help you in all your future endeavours. With kind personal regards and best wishes, I remain. Sincerely yours in Christ, Neil N. Savaryn, Bishop.

CONGRATULATIONS FROM HIS GRACE ARCHBISHOP MACDONALD Congratulations to you all, teachers and students, on the good work done last year, and indeed on the good work being done there all the time. Great expectations were held for the O ' Leary High School from the first, but even the most optimistic hardly expected such transforma¬ tion of environment and such gratifying progress in the class rooms in so short a time. We are living in strenuous times. You have therefore an oppor¬ tunity of seeing and hearing many things which your elders did not have a chance to learn while they were going to school. Your faith in divine providence should be strengthened because of these events, but you may run across a few whose faith may be lost through stupidly thinking that man has finally mastered all the secrets of the universe. You would hardly expect me to write even this much without some mention of the second Vatican Council which is now in session. May I express the hope that you all join with me in thanking God for the im¬ proved relations between Catholics and others since almost three years, when Pope John first announced that he would call a General Council of the Church. His discourses and conversations, his kindness and fair¬ ness have won the respect and confidence of all mankind, except those behind the iron and bamboo curtains. Even those must have admired him as a fearless champion of truth and justice, but they do not love him. Note that one of the principal aims of the Council is to bring about the reunion with our Church of those whom Pope John loves to call our separated brethren. Doesn ' t that suggest to your minds what a grand thing it would be, and what a devout consummation, if we by our prayers and good example, could bring bac k to our fold all those prodi¬ gal children who have fallen away from the Church, no matter where the blame for their lapse may lie. Praying God to bless you all, I remain. Sincerely Archbishop of Edmonton.
