Victory Adds To The 1983 Homecoming game, which was scheduled for Friday, October 21, was played on Saturday, October 22, due to rain. The bleachers were packed and spirits were high, despite the rain, as the Panthers played one of their best games of the season beating the Bethalto Eagles 24-6. The pregame entertainment included the band and a presentation of the 1983 Homecom- ing Queen candidates. At half time the band gave an excellent performance, which was ap- preciated by all, and the Golden Girls per- formed to Movin' On Up”. The victory of the Homecoming game put everyone in the best of spirits for the closing event of the Homecoming week, the dance. 1 2 3 6 Homecoming Game

Parade Survives , Despite The Homecoming Parade came off as a big success despite the bad weather conditions. Many people lined Smiley Street to watch as the fire engines, floats, cars, and trucks rolled by led by the O Fallon Marching Band. The energetic cheerleaders and pom-pon girls kept everyone's eyes open, the clowns provided sweets for the kids, and the male student council members showed off their bike- riding skills. Also featured in the parade the 1983 Homecoming Queen can- didates. They were seniors, Kelly Darnell, and Leslie Stein; juniors, Mande Wood and Pam Veach; sophomores. Heather Greenfield and Sara Beth Castrale; freshmen, Kim Glazebrook and Stephanie Ratcliff; and retiring queen Reina Santiago. 9 8 Homecoming Parade
