GIRLS GYM TEAM The purpose of the Girls Gym Team is to enrich the girls' knowledge of stunts and tumbling and to perform feats of strength, balance, agility, and flex- ibility. During the past decade stunts and tumbling have come into their own as a constructive and sig- nificant part of a girl's education. The rising em- phasis upon physical fitness cast a new light upon those activities which involve the manipulation of the body in feats of skill and strength. In partci- pating in stunts and tumbling a girl broadens her physical, mental, and social resources. Miss West- phaelinger is the sponsor. CROSS CCUNTRY The Cross Country season saw a considerable improvement in our Cross Country team, and we tied for fifth place in the Public League, 7th place in the district, and 8th place in the state meet. Things look promising for the future as our Junior Cross Country team placed 1st in the Public League run. The season started with several letter- men returning. Frank Watkins, Virtis Moore, Frank Aufmuth, Dan Proctor, and Ron Christakos formed an experienced group to help the new boys. Benny Caldwell, Gary Conrad, William Agnew, VS'altcr Nash, and Phillip Robinson were new boys that earned letters for the seasons effort. With only one Senior on the team, Walter Nash, wc hope the next years team will carry the names of O'Fallon Tech lligh in the sport of Cross Country.
