BUYS RIFLE TEAM The overall purpose of the rifle clubs is to acquaint the prospective shooter with the safe handling of the .22 caliber rimfire rifle. Also to give the shooter a better understanding of all the safety regulations that are required in handling firearms, as one of sixty who are trained for a period of five weeks in the fundamentals of sighting, positions, triangulation and dry firing before they enter into competitive shooting. The dues per member is one dollar per school year. The cost of shooting is thirty cents per week. They meet every Monday and Wednesday after school. All shooting equipment is furnished by the club. The prospects of a pool at the the school by 1960 and the appearance of many promising freshman swimmers this year bodes a bright future for swimming at O'Fallon.
