J. Wacgafman Mr. MacCalman, our Superintendent, came to the Hud- son Valley from the Finger Lakes region with the idea of staying a few years- And that was quite a few years ago. He has watched the student body of Nyack High School grow from a few hundred to nearly one thousand. Under his guid- ance the program of the school has expanded from offering only College Entrance and Commercial Courses to a program of classical to practical arts aoording an opportunity for every student. Mr. MacCalman received most of his education in North Carolina having obtained his A.B. at Elon College, but he took graduate work at both Columbia and New York Uni- versity. He is connected with the National Council for School Building Problems and with New York State Council of Economic Trends and Education. BOARD OF EDUCATION 14. mliemhauaen Mr. Rittershausen, a native New Yorker, obtained his B.S. at Cornell University and his M.S. at Albany State Teachers' College. He is a county councilman for the New York State Secondary Schools Principals' Association. Active in com- munity organizations, he holds the position of treasurer in the Nyack Rotary Club and is a member of the Rockland County Boy Scout Council.
