ATICNAL HO OR SOCIETY HE National Honor Society was established in Nunda Central School for the purpose of giving recognition to those students who have been outstanding in character, scholarship, leadership, and service. The members are chosen by the faculty from the upper ranks of the Sophomore, Junior and Senior' classes. To remain in this organization, the student must maintain a scholastic average of 85 and a satisfactory rating in citizenship. During the school year, one day is set aside for the students. At this time the new members don their initiation garb and perform for the benefit of the old members. At the end of the day, everyone enjoys an evening of entertainment. Upon graduation, the Senior Class members are awarded the society Key which signifies that they have maintained an excellent average in marks and citizenship, while attending high school. Truly, when a student is chosen for membership in this organization he can feel that his efforts are beginning to reap a reward. It can really be taken to mean that theyhave been successful in taking the First hurdle of their career and sets up a good example so that they may always seek to attain the honor positions in all walks of life. ---- ACTIVITIES -1- 42
