As we looked af various -subiecfs from fhese fwo books' we especially noficed fhe sufficiency of God's grace for any sifuafion. One of fhe quesfions fhaf arose was in regards fo fhe elec'r according fo fhe fore- knowledge of God in chuapfer l:2. We were impressed fo nofice fhe consisfency of fhe Scripfures on fhis subiecf which is so offen mis- inferprefed. Pefer makes if clear fhaf we are elecf fhrough sancfificafion and obedience. Our feacher, Brofher Clarence Good, also refreshed our minds wifh, fhe imporfance of a Godly home. Bofh fhe husband and wife have a, greaf responsibilify in making fhe home a success. Colossians was wriTTen by The Aposfle Paul probably beween 60-64 A.D. Verses I and 5 in 'chapTer Two seem To indicaTe ThaT Paul was ,never To see Them in person. buT we have reason To believe ThaT he may have sfopped There while passing close by, and ThaT iT was noT'recorded in The Bible. I9 ' BIBLE. STUDY 'Colossians in general is a 'message of good will and a book of exhorTaTion. IT' also em- phasizes ChrisT as The head of The Church. A few special reasons ThaT Paul had for This. leTTer was To correcT some errors ThaT were prevalenf among Them, such as The influence of philosophy and The Tradifions of men, and The facT ThaT They insisTed on Jewish riTes and ceremonies. This was noT bringing glory To ChrisT. In The concluding chapTers we find Chris- Tian duTies, such as having our affecTion seT on Things above and morfifying The deeds of The flesh.
