Halloween Madness Strikes Who were those strange beings? They were the students and staff who were crazy enough to show up in costume for the annual Halloween Dress-Up Day. The three hours of madcap com- edy were highlighted by the pie-eating contest and the egg toss, neither of which were clean events. Susan Bachor, a walking jelly bean, won first prize in the costume contest. In other events, Jerry Oliver, Ron Phares, Joe Davis, Wes Rob- ertson, Mark Nickell, and Darrell Parks won the Coke Relay; John Minarcin and Mike Stevens hobbled their way to triumph in the 3-legged race; Roscoe Anaya slurped his chocolate pie in winning time; Ron Phares whistled first in the cracker whistle contest; and Victor Vasquez and Christina Lopez won the egg toss.
