Cheering the Nova Titans with an enthusiastic crowd provided the utmost in fun and excite- ment. The cheerleaders started the year off in high spirits, practicing before school in heat, rain, and the frequent interruptions from stu- dents. Miss Lucille Whisenant, and Miss Pat Houston offered skilled assistance as sponsors. During the morning sessions, new cheers were created and kinks worked out of the unused muscles. Despite small crowds and bad weather, the cheerleaders remained peppy and boosted the teams and spectators spirits. At the basketball games came the thrill of the newly completed gym and cheering before a more spirited crowd. During Titan day festivities the Varsity cheer- leaders boasted the winning float while the Junior Varsity squad ran a close second place. A busy year full of high spirits and lots of pep, that was 1965 for the Titan cheerleaders.

Performing two con- certs at the Hollywood Band shell, the band made an admirable showing to the Broward County public. Long hours of practice proved valuable as invitations to play at public meetings, dedications, and the Davie Orange Festival came to the band. Spirit was created by the band as lively tunes fill- ed the air at football and basketball games. A battle cry of charge echoed in the stands following the bugle call of the Titan band. There was only one goal for this past year for the band-uniforms. The band worked extra hours sell- ing baked goods and peanuts to earn funds to pur- chase their uniforms.
