'Stomp Northeast -the battle cry of Titan Week. Support the Titans. Pep Club sells ties, shakers ..... Y .... 2,77 M7 Fft' 1? ul Fight the team across the field, Show them that Nova's here, Send the earth reverberating with a mighty cheer ....... The mightiest cheer for the Titans came of course from the pep club. Building Titan spirit and morale throughout the season and never failing to exhibit Titan pep, the Nova Pep Club played a maior role in the promotion of Nova Athletes. Pep tags, shakers, booster buttons, and Nova ties were familiar objects to Pep cluloers and to the stu- dents who purchased them as signs of Nova loyalty. N-O-V-A under decorated goal post made the Titan teams all the more glorious as they ran through the letter O for luck and again during the games after mounting another touchdown to the score. With pep rallies, Nova Mums, queens, floats, and cheers the Pep Club sponsored and organized Ti- tan Week. A Titan tribute to the group for giving Nova a tradition and a spirit to be proud of. Not forgetting the basketball season, the Pep Club again came through in promoting school spirit by sponsoring ai sock hop on the opening night of the Titan gym. The Pep Club lived its pledge of: N-O-V-A Nova Nova all the way.

Cheering the Nova Titans with an enthusiastic crowd provided the utmost in fun and excite- ment. The cheerleaders started the year off in high spirits, practicing before school in heat, rain, and the frequent interruptions from stu- dents. Miss Lucille Whisenant, and Miss Pat Houston offered skilled assistance as sponsors. During the morning sessions, new cheers were created and kinks worked out of the unused muscles. Despite small crowds and bad weather, the cheerleaders remained peppy and boosted the teams and spectators spirits. At the basketball games came the thrill of the newly completed gym and cheering before a more spirited crowd. During Titan day festivities the Varsity cheer- leaders boasted the winning float while the Junior Varsity squad ran a close second place. A busy year full of high spirits and lots of pep, that was 1965 for the Titan cheerleaders.
