Different Places, Young typists lear the tedious task of typing. Wayne Wood makes peace with Mr. Zuger as Ray Bradley looks on. Life may be like a rock, but when you are at Nottoway it is more like modeling clay. In August it can be molded into something new each day, an athlete, a musician, a sophomore, a junior or a senior. One never knows what form the day will take, but more than likely each Monday morning at 8:00 the school halls are packed with about 600 students talking about a Friday night Cougar football game or pushing their way to homeroom. Wednesdays are always looked forward to because the first three classes will be cut short for the meeting of clubs or some assembly program or a special guest speaker. After all the entertainment comes the joy of lunch—the social part of the day. As one enters the cafeteria, he will hear the buzzing of students voices and may even see some green peas or peaches flying around. Thursday moves along peacefully until 1:15 when the band starts warming up. The sound of horns, trum- pets, and drums can be heard for quite some distance. Fridays are the highlight of the week. The whole school is excited and waiting impatiently for the afternoon pep rally and the sports event that wi ll take place that night. By the time June arrives the day is molded into a definite shape and begins to dry. Sophomores do not keep their shape and will continue to change for two more years. Juniors are almost through being sculptured; they have but one more year. The Seniors are now solid and their life may very well be just like a rock. Former Senator Jim Edmonds speaks with government stu- dents.
