PRGPHECY OF THE CLASS OF '47 The time is evening of the year 1967. The sun is just sinking behind the jagged line of the Rockies, those mountains discovered by the renowned explorers Naomi Aarons and Skippy Schenker. VV e are gathered around the roaring fireplace at the fabulous Q - T Bar ,- whoops, the typewriter slipped ,-1 Bar Q - T Ranch, owned and operated by those lovelies of the wide-open spaces Jim Shumaker, John Moore, and Don Bab- cock. The prominent feature of the rambling living room is the old stone fireplace, over which hangs the portrait of Dot Cortwright and her lovely Park Avenue family. Seated in a horse haired chair is Eddie Dyre, now a respectable lawyer, who be- gins singing the old favorite 'Aopen the Bottles, Richard to Dick Buck, who is behind the bar. Instantly he is joined by the professional male quartet of Fussy Williams, Bill Crowell, Don Hoople, and Dick Tarr. These singing sensations have come to spend a quiet week-end for the Class of '47 reunion which was instigated by Jean Bario and Barb Bushnell, those two secretarial sharpies. As we sit reminiscing, Joan McAllister limps in after a hard day on the range, complaining bitterly about her stable boy, Joe Beith. We follow her slow, painful footsteps into the bar, where we find four happy bar tenders fit's a big barj, Art Roberts, Dick Buck, Russ King, and Don Dunham. doling out the phosphates and other liquid refreshments. Our hosts have been receiv- ing complaints from foreman Bernie Berkman about the lack of profits. Could be the happy bar tenders . . . mm-m-m? We are all reclining in hopes of a quiet evening when in stumbles Ann faw, come on, horse, whoa, Kinney and Jean fI'll die with my boots onj Macviccar, exhausted from a week's work prospecting in the gold hills. They have been trying to out- prospect their city competitors, Marilyn Corbett and Milly Furman, employees of Dolan and Doust's Junky Jewelry Shoppe. Kinney and MacViccar are led to comfortable chairs by Lawrence J. Sherman, Jr., and William Francis Hable, Jr. The next arrivals prove to be the troop of wondering artists led by Don Mar- shall and Ginny Braybrook. They are closely followed by Joan Butler, Barb Brown, and Sally Farr. My, remember when they used to be seen sketching Fellows and Vvest- moreland? As yet we have had no further Word from Muscles Vvalser and Power- housen Nevin, who from the last reports had stopped in Simms City, where they were employed as bronco busters by Stacey's Stables. The stable boy dashes in, trips over Salomy the pet pig, picks himself up hurriedly, and shouts excitedly to our eminent horse doctor, Dick Severance, L.S.M.F.T .... N.C., that the prize stallion has collapsed under the tremendous weight of Bernie Frank. What excitement!
