Secrets Envelop Prom THERESA ANN RUBY You give but little when you give of your possessions; it is when you give of yourself that you truly give! Kahil Gibran KIMBERLY CARMEN RUIZ My life is my message. Mahatma Ghandi . . . them all. Some of the secrets that gnawed at the seniors were those of where the prom would be held, what would be the theme, who would be the band, and—most crucial of all—where could they find a date? Some seniors were more philosophical from the very beginning. “I can’t wait for prom; for one thing we’ll be out of school, and for another I’ve already planned to have a great time.” exclaimed Anna Thorpe. May was the time for tearful goodbyes. The affec- tion and love that each senior felt for the other was brought out in deeply emotional expressions when the senior class got together for their last retreat. The re- treat offered a time for special goodbyes, goodbyes that could only be said together and away from all the cra- ziness that would be graduation. The countdown was finally down to zero. Next . . . CATHERINE IRENE RALEIGH Still, it’s a real good bet—the best is yet to come. Frank Sinatra KATHLEEN MARY RIEKE If we pause to think, we will have cause to thank. Anonymous STEPHANIE ANN RYAN If I should live forever And all my dreams come true. My memories of love. Will be of you. John Denver LAURA LOUISE SANDIFER Back, turn back O Time, in your flight, Make me a child again lust for tonight. Anonymous Seniors 93
