Class Survives Exams For others such as Jill Schaaf, seniorhood really hit home during college application time. I really felt like a senior when the pressure for getting out our college applications started.” Though first semester started off rather badly for the seniors with a loss to the Juniors by 4 cents in carnival ticket sales, it was soon livened up again with the start of senior lunch privileges. “I think it’s a great break from the routine of the school day, even if you don’t go out to eat; it’s kind of nice to be able to just go to the park and relax,” commented one senior. As the fall season got underway, the prospects of a great senior year seemed even better when three Sion senior girls were nominated for homecoming queen at Rockhurst. The fall was brightened even more when Alyce Johnson, a senior from Sion, was chosen queen. Fall soon turned into winter, with the approach of what would, hopefully, be for many their last Sion ex- ams. Many seniors could do no more than exclaim, “Thank God they’re over!” For a while there was doubt about whether or not there would be a Sion Christmas Dance; the snow seemed relentless. Luckily Mother Nature did finally give way, and the Christmas Dance was held, with Stasi Connelly as queen. For many A.P. English students . . .
