Fine Arts Deanna Heying asks the mind boggling question, What did happen to the farmer's daughter? Tirabassi wearing attire from Fiddler on the V , if Pat studies his lines until exhaustion. In addition to Drama and Art, Band and Humanities have been ad- ded to broaden the classes offered in the Fine Arts Dept. This way students have a wider range of classes to pick from in order to earn their credits to graduate. Mrs. Jo Dean Salley teaches Humanities. The Class, which is quite small in number, contains only about ten students, all of whom have obtained at least a 2.5 p.a. to be admitted in- to the class. Mrs. Salley commented that she had once taught the course to college students and that she en- joyed teaching it here at Notre Dame. Being in charge of a band takes plenty of patience which we all know Mr. Becker has. He has been busy organizing the eighteen members of the class which consists of: flutes, clarinets, saxophones, drums, trombones, a tuba, and a trumpet. Each of these students have had at least two years ex- perience in their instrumental field, which means they aren't beginners. This new group at ND has added a new life and spirit to masses and pep assemblies. Mr. Becker stated that right now it's just a pep band, but it is continuously improving and within a few years they will have things go- ing strong! Academics 31
