Breaking the IVIoId .. a Word From Our Editor When I was volunteered for the job of editor, no one had greater doubts about my ability to handle. such an enormous task than myself Cexcluding some of my classmates, most of the faculty, and all of the administra- tionb. Of course, this prompted me to reply, Youbet- cha. I was determined to whip my staff within an inch of their lives, if just to prove everybody wrong. . . I could direct the makings of a good-if not great - yearbook. I had a lot of high hopes for this year, causing my humility in this area to fade quite a bit. But I knew it wasn't just me talking. The 1982-83 Yearbook staff knows what a bad yearbook looks like and they continual- ly strove for the best they could Cwithout me whipping them within inches of their livesj. After spending a week of summer vacation at yearbook Auschwitz camp, I was faced with coming back to about 16 rookies and give them a crash course: IO Quick, Easy Steps to Making a Yearbook for Fun and Pro- fit. It wasn't easy, and I could have killed them at times, but they did it - they deserve all the credit- l'm very proud of them. There was a lot of dedication put into this book - especially all the summer hours everybody gave up to sell ads -they were a staff that l'm sure many editors would have given their right arms for. Thanks for giving me half a chance, Mr. Spurlock - you didn't do too bad for a rookie, either. A yearbook is a history book. All I hope is that we've put out a book that's good enough to keep. And when you take it off the shelf in 10 years, that it will be just as easy to remember everything as if it were yesterday. Well,-l hope l'm not the only one Who's running wild and having fun Because I know right now l'm never going to change. -from Go For Broke asjafaa 'flddfvr' P.S. The 1982-83 Titan Yearbook Staff would like to acknowledge the support given to us by Mr. Spurlock and our principal, Father Wally. This book and this year would not have been the same without you.
