hyper ion staff advis or ' mrs. marie ann hvasta co-editor . . . . . . jim de marco reporters rose sammut mark Wolmsty ron rawson carmela dunderman susie christenson diane quinn robert seipel mike nelson tom Walsh diana taylor mary tillard teresa a lord though the year was plagued by missed deadlines and last minute rushing, the hyperion staff succeeded in putting several issues to print. covering campus news and sports events from the first rough copies to editing, rewriting, and typing, then finally to the lay-out stage, proved to be a time consuming and exasperating job. reporters and editors, all from the journalism class, were aided much by the criticisms and advice of mrs. hvasta. gradually the paper did grow in size and content, and the efforts were rewarded by editorial feedback from both the faculty and the student body. mech mecha is a newly-formed club at nd. membership is limited to american decent. though this organization is new it has become a part of notre dame. during the christmas season the club sponsored a food and clothing drive for the needy families in mexico. mecha is also noted for their great bake sales and fine mexican food they serve to raise money. mrs. carmen benchoff is the faculty advisor for this group of students and it looks like they will go a long way at nd. mecha members: jessica flores, sandy flores, ana palmerin, debby palmerin, lori de la hoya, veronica garcia, lucy mendoza, mary ann maramba, anna rios, mrs. benchoff, arnold escarcega, robert mc laughlin, paul martinez, ruben navarro, carolyn hernandez, sandy cervantes. Weightlifting weightlifting club members: neal vavra, todd beld, mark steck, steve loomis, mike bradvica, daryl dennis, mike mc coy, terry straw, john ryan, bill drachslin, john knapik, mike steck, perry young, david kain. Knot picturedj john hickey, frank pacific, steven shumk. ...gn W, 1 there have been close to two dozen dedicated titans who u se their time three days a week in the process of physical development, all this energy is being directed to one goal: persona pride. some of these athletes, young and old alike, are honored by the elite tian stud club. this group consists of only the mightiest titans. the group also expounds on speed, quickness and agility exercises to help the up coming football players prepare for battle. coach meier also em- phasises team unity and an awareness to the supreme goal: a c.i. f. championship. several of this year's lifters will compete in power lifting exhibitions during the spring of '75. during the chicken and bean banquet, a trophy is given out for the most dedicated lifter. there is tight competition and all are looking to follow in the footsteps of daryl dennis, 197 4's winner, he was only a sophomore. daryl and mike mc coy are in the process of helping to encourage other deserving titans.

- '1975 lettermen: members are: rudy alfar, dennis jordan, john wiggins, charlie stretch, alex ybarra, jack carousso, pat fahey, daryl dennis, ken beckerle, mike mc coy, grant younglove, tom harvey, frank abacherli, mike tokorcheck, larry chacon, mark grigsby, steve loomis, greg wuetcher, chris sando, john hickey, don brinson, mike nelson, mike o'donnell, dennis sandoval, mike fahey, eddie bickel, mark wolnisty, coach jim naggi, danny pacific, mike mezey, larry mascari, jackson kistler, tom sebastian, bob mojarro, frank pacific arnie loera, tony bedolla, pat phelan, terry straw. the notre dame lettermen's club consists of all athletes who have the varsity monogram for patricipation in interscholastic sports or for service as manager or video technician. the myriad of functions that it performs range in spectrum from community service, such as its christmas food drive, to sponsoring and handling school activities such as the varsity-faculty basketball game. any profits attained from this year's programs will go primarily toward a trophy case for athletic awards. officers this year are president tom sebastian, vice president greg wuetcher and secretary- treasurer jack carousso who, along with coach jim naggi have proved themselves to be very ef- ficient in organizing club programs. 1975 mat maids: liz hackett, lori de la hoya, rose loera, denise rosenberry, francine lopat, emma violette, cathy davis, renee straw, Q kathy dente, and mimi garcia. m m a this year's mat maids at nd have had all kinds of jobs to do. Some of them were to keep score, run the clock, and clean up after matches. also, they were responsible for things like oranges, gatorade, honey and cookies for the titans. the club consisted of eleven people with president cathy davis, vice-president emma violette, secretary mimi garcia and treasurer veronica garcia.
