l steppin' out with spirit practice, practice, practice! that was the story for notre darne's songleaders. all summer long they wanted to be perfect for camp in august. as the other pep squads came back from camp with loads of trophies and ribbons, they were greatly encouraged. competitions came up sooner than they had expected, and their spirits Were lifted by winning one of the first spirits sticks given out. they received 54 ribbons, and one superior trophy. this and all of the spirit from the students and faculty made this year a profitable and enjoyable one. the 1974-75 songleaders: qtopj nancy schrup, sue o'connell, barb kain fcap- tainy, mary santangelo, cindy me kayg fbottomy sheree sereg. ..w.f,-W ' f r n..ua-L4 1wz1 ln .

flags wave on nd titan i there is a saying three's a charm , well, in the instance of our flag- gies this certainly was the case, in this third year of the flag squad being in existence at notre dame,they have strived for perfection and have achieved it. they were one of the few flag squads invited to perform at a los angeles rams game. this was one of the most exciting events they could have hoped for. the flag firls then won a first place trophy at camp for the hardest- working flag squad, which they certainly deserved. when the riverside city competition for pep squads came around, these six girls, competing against eight other schools performed the best they know how and walked away with a third place trophy to add to their collect- ion. all in all, this year's flaggies have proved to be perhaps not one of the most popular squads, but the one least likely to be forgotten! the 1974-75 flaggirlsz ftopy kelli barnes fcaptainjg fmiddley sharon marquez, joyce wilson, debbie villarealg fbottomy kathy dente.

Y- f -7 - drill team this year's drill team, despite its small size, has shown itself as 'a squad full of spirit and enormous pride. they have reflected the over-all attitude of the notre dame pep squads. it has been a rather long year, with summer practices beginning in june. these practices were tedious early sessions of basic moves. the summer season was highlighted by a summer camp, which four of the girls attended. they came home with knowing that they were the fourth-hardest Working team in attendance, chosen from over one hundred teams. even with this small success, there was no rest. practice continued, and the opening night drew nearer. the drill team had to be ready to entertain at the first football game. drill team has shown overwhelming school spirit, and has managed to find fun and enjoyment along with the work. it has been a new experience for most, and the girls will not soon forget this successful year. 1975 drill team members: debbie gudde, joanne hornsby, allison dale, jan zuppardo, karen vincenzi, rose huerta, marsha akers, vickie prichard, karyl store, patty burton, joyce spidel, patty simon, athena bryson.
