varslt basketball realize c.i.f. standings the 1974-75 notre dame cagers enjoyed one of their finest seasons, with ever-dilligent coach ray plutko once more at the reins, assisted by newcomer mark le duc. with only four returning lettermen fgreg wuetcher, alex ybarra, mike byrd, and mike scaranoj, the titans compiled a 18-9 record while advancing to the finals of the inaugural n. d. holiday classic, the carpinteria classic, and the third round of the cit' playoffs lone of the best campaigns in nd historyj. the titans appeared in the cif a poll for the third straight year, finishing in 9th place. coach plutko, in his last season at nd, once again showed his magnificent coaching ability as he compiled 102 wins. greg wuetcher, mike byrd, james mc earthy, and mike scarano gained all-league honors, wuetcher making his third annual appearance. teammate mike scarano was an all-county, all-cif player. the team was inspired by their four devoted stat girls all season. they were juniors Vicky and lynn mc carthy, paula crider, and mary ann steck. it was a season of many accomplishments, and one that will long be remembered. 1975 varsity team: ftopj: coach mark le duc, jack carousso, don kraemer, tim white, alex ybarra, bill weinfurtner, tom korson, mike byrd, coach ray plutko, fbottomjz manager bob levi, james mc carthy, randy strark, mike scarano, greg wuetcher, pat breyer, jeff singletary, and student assistant tom hibbs. 2 YY WW irriir YYW Y Y WY YYYYY, 7,777 W Y7,Y
