Olllll. IGAITI '73-74 Fantastic . . . Absolutely fantastic . . . That's the only way to describe this year's drill team. The second that they came on the field, you could tell there was something different. They had a brilliance, a kind of unmistakable shine that made the audience sit on the edge of their seats in utter awe. At the beginning of August some of them didn't know their left from their rightg within 3 weeks, they had mastered their first routine and all the marching skills in the book. All of that was behind them now. It was opening night, and what a night! They made a terrific appearance not soon to be forgotten. And after the first time jitters were gone, the girls marched on the field several more times to make a hit with a very warm and appreciative audience. At the beginning of December, the girls decided to add a little excitement to their lives, by attending a Riverside City Competition. There, they placed a hard-earned fourth place out of 6 schools, not bad for a second year team. They had lots of fun, but the girls still worked awful hard and deserve much credit and many thanks. Hats off to you, girls! You were sensational! Back Row Left-Right: Maryann Huckabone, Barbara Casey, Laurie Chappell, Pauline Librenjak, Leigh Mugishima, Sue O'Connell, Vicki Prichard, Marsha Akers. Iiasulous lilaqqies For the second year in a row, the Tlaggies plagued the bleachers of Nlotre Dame. After being washed out mf Shamel Park, by a fire extinguisher rarrage of senior men, the Flaggies vere undaunted by the numerous hreats on their lives if they chose to merform. Twirling to the tunes of Baby ilephant Walk , the Flaggies labergasted their audience with ,tunts of amazing accuracy. Let it be :nown that the Flaggies are swingers Every afternoon during the summer, me could see them swinging their iearts out on the swings at the Park. Xll in all it has been a good year, with :yes looking ahead for another iantastic year! fi? BAND Practice makes perfect! Debbie Chavez, Carmela Dunderman, Michael Fonseca, Tommy Gomez, Jan Kling, Cindi McKay, Santiago Castellanos, Eulalio Castellanos, Doug Schuelke, Paul Cassadas, Joe Suggs, jennifer Stafford, Dan Zuppardo. Slowly but surely Notre Dame started what some called a band. But with great practice and devotion and much help from the band director, Mr. Kakacek, a band with such harmonic balance came into being that when they played Beer, Beer, or the National Anthem, its tone brought tears to many a persons eyes. The Pep Club this year is a collaboration of the energy of approximately eight people. The purpose of the club is to arrange busses to out of town games, put up signs designating the time and place of the games and create a general overall spirit for the athletes who practice diligently so they are recognized by the students. In some instances the club has failed, due to the lack of funds, but when there are funds they are spent promoting a spirit around the school. The club is not only for the benefit of the students but also for adding a little spice to the faculty when and if they can. Work is our hobby but the fun involved has really been what has kept the club in working order. 0 -65 .' ,f - 1. Z 4nQUACKxr F5514 Whistle while you work W2 Law 4
