WOWI, after being Notre Dame's first Songleaders last year, we really feel a sense of accomplishment. They really put their whole being into Camp and their sore muscles proved it! They were at beautiful Santa Barbara, Specialty Camp, with the majority of the N.D. Pep Squad, fVarsity and J.V. Cheerleaders and Mascotl. When the winners of competition were announced, they were expecting to at least receive an honorable mention, and practically keeled over when they announced that Notre Dame Songleaders were FIRST PLACE WYINNERS! Also taken home from the NCA Camp, was a Superior Trophy for the performance of the routines learned at Camp. The most exciting part of all was winning one of the nine Spirit Sticks given out for the week. l

Sewing we did, when September came, Finishing barely in time for our very first game. Up to the Seminary during Hell-week we charged, Armed with cookies for the Football team, into the dini Pep rallies were fun, but always hard work, Ar times we felt good, and others like j ERKSY Homecoming was filled with spirit and pride, Each felt her own special glow inside. Back up to the Sem., with pumpkins and a stuffed bearg A surprise pep rally that ended with a Hflareul At Griswalds we ate with hardly a sound, That last football game-we barely got off the ground. Then, 9 pans of lasagna, tons of salad and coke, And 30 guys to eat it. What aJOKffl Back to Santa Barbara, with the Basketball teamg We spent 3 days filled with laughs, cheers and screams. Too poor to afford the banquet at the Dunesg ng room we bargcd We invaded El Sarape carrying knives, forks and spoons. Iiasulous lilaqqies For the second year in a row, the Tlaggies plagued the bleachers of Nlotre Dame. After being washed out mf Shamel Park, by a fire extinguisher rarrage of senior men, the Flaggies vere undaunted by the numerous hreats on their lives if they chose to merform. Twirling to the tunes of Baby ilephant Walk , the Flaggies labergasted their audience with ,tunts of amazing accuracy. Let it be :nown that the Flaggies are swingers Every afternoon during the summer, me could see them swinging their iearts out on the swings at the Park.
