l1.h.S. The Notre Dame chapter of the National Honor Society was represented this year by 40 students from the Junior and Senior classes. Under the leadership of the four officers Larry Green fPres.l, Ellen Legg fV.P.b, Mary Ann Huckabone lSec.J, and Mary Desjardins fTreas.l the society planned a number of field trips and got in on other activities. The members are elected by members of the faculty who base their selections on scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service, and character. The advisors for the club are Ms. Pearce and Mrs. Connors. In order for outstanding students to achieve recognition, a club was formed. Their club is referred to as the California State Federation. Not only do students have to do well overall, but also in specific subjects as well. Membership in this club does not mean an automatic state scholarship but special scholarships are given to some members which would not be given to people outside of the federation.

At one time when Notre Dame's campus was bountiful in just young men, the need for a youthful, or shall we say provocative, organization was at hand. The Class of '74 provided it! At first we were just athletes, but later we came to accept anyone who fulfilled the interesting requirements. Leadership of the group is taken care of by the two justified Heads - anonomys.
