October 26th dawned clear and bright, bringing delightful weather for the 1973 Homecoming festivities. St. Catherine's parking lot buzzed with excitement as the classes put their final, frenzied touches on the floats before judging. The traditional parade rode from Notre Dame to UCR amid fluttering flowers, filled-to- overflowing-trucks and exuberant on- lookers. The height of the celebration took place that evening when Ann Kraemer was designated Homecoming Queen. Although there was disappointment as the football team lost to rival Aquinas by a meager point, spirits could not remain low for long. After the game, the excitement and suspense shifted to the N.D. gym for the Homecoming dance where the class of '75 was announced as the winner of the float competition. All in all, the Homecoming proved to be a memorable experience for everyone.

teachens Go Into Bonoaoe Slave Day proved to be both fun and profitable. Cn December sixth, the juniors staged an event, which was totally new to the campus. The event known as slave day featured students and members of the faculty being sold for the day to the highest bidder. Some of the faculty members who were sold went for prices upwards of ten dollars. After the auction, certain members of the faculty, at command of their owners, competed in crazy stunts such as Mr. Plutko and Mr. Barnes having a one- armed underhand free throw contest while wearing lavish costumes. The event was so popular that even the Riverside Press released pictures of the action in their paper. Allin all, it was a fun and rewarding day for Notre Dame.
