This they did to become one of the best frosh team units in our history. Led by Mike Byrd, Tim Connolly, and Jeff Singletary they took second place in the league. Coach Harris in his second year as frosh coach steered his team with a sixty-nine point explosion against Sher- man. Mike Byrd also turned in three performances of thirty points or better. They are great prospects for the future. TITAN Grapplers place third in Arrowhead League Through hard work and pride, the Titan grapplers struggled through tough preseason matches to put up a respectable showing for the year. Hampered by numerous injuries, the team had a slow start, but im- proved tremendously during the last half of the season. The newly-appointed Coach Goldware hurt his leg, while Pat Gorman suffered head injuries early in the season, and appendicitis struck Mike Tardiff, who also received injuries just prior to the League tourney. Head Coach Scott Hooks had a full team with only one weight class forfeiting t168j, with which to work, and he did an ABOVE: Statistician Cindy Cox watches the match intently as Coach Hooks manages the scores. Awards in the League finals were as follows: Arnold Loera, Mike Tardiff, Mike Mikolajcyk, Glenn DeIGado, Rick Machado, and Kip Poutre placed second: Mike Hopkins, Jim Grimard, and Brian Gay took third.
