This year Notre Dame went co-ed for the first time and the co-operation in student government here was better than it had been in years. With a new constitution in hand ASB president Joe Negiia expanded student government into far-reaching horizons. Enterprising activities were supervised by Rose Redenuik. Money- conscious Eunice Hornsby and Patti Sebastian kept the records straight and the ASB in the black. ND's first girl vice president, Donna Mascari, had an energetic hand in all the functions of the student body. Mary Gomeck repeated as secretary and continued an illustrious career. tAlthough besieged by women Joe did the best he could.l With Mr. Macko on one side and pressure from the student body on the other the ASB found a happy medium between the two factions, to lead Notre Dame into a bright future.
