Christmas is Joy proves a meaningful theme at the Christmas Ball Music and laughter filled the Bannockburn Banquet throughout the evening of Dec. 23. ln other words, the Christmas Ball was once more a happy event for those who attended. The Fabulous Jades provided the music for the second straight year and they still know how to make an evening special. Christmas Joy was the theme and it definitely held true for most of the couples in attendance. While most of the folks danced, some seemed quite satisfied with just watching the proceedings while enjoying some of the plentiful refreshments. For all that were there it will be an even- ing long-rememberedg for those who weren't, there's always next year. 16!Activities l ABOVE LEFT: Santa Claus hands out goodies at all the tables. ND girls play football The girls of Notre Dame decided to try their hand at football, and in what had to be one of the roughest games of flag football history Coach Stetkevich's team defeated Coach Goldware's team 8-0. The girls prac- ticed hard for two weeks and on game day all were decked out in jerseys and sun glare. The game was marked by tough defense. The only scores came when Debbie Gaston tackled the white team's punter for a safety, and Tina Loper hauled in a long pass for the lone touchdown. The girls said they could now appreciate how tough football really was, and the majority were now ready to leave it to the boys. v TOP: Referees Joe Neglia, Tony Ybarra, Rick Machado, and Cary Voll prepare for unlucky jobs as officials.
