Rainy skies prevail on Homecoming Day Homecoming was a festive occasion at Notre Dame despite the rainy conditions. The culmination of hun- dreds of hours' work were put on display at Shamel Park. These four floats were especially very imaginative in their design. The freshmen came up with a ginger- bread house, while the sophomores had a frog perched on a fIatbed.The juniors constructed a magic genie. Kangaroo Kourt livens Hello Week The first Hello Week at the new Notre Dame was a brilliant success. It was an opportune time for the freshmen to become familiar with the upperclassmen. The freshmen were treated with Hevenhanded justice by the more than merciful seniors. They exhibited qualities that only plebs can - the boys wearing T- shirts and carrying Life Savers which at the request of a senior were enthusiastically given. The girls also wore shirts and ties and carried a baby bottle and bibs. ' The happenings of the week were highlighted at the Hello Week assembly during which the rebel freshmen were tried and sentenced. The presiding senior judges, beaming with the light of justice in their eyes and mercy in their hearts administered severe punishments for grave offenses.
