Geep, ONES gece on | RSP bee — ii Ee Sl 2 Me: Lz FOREWORD Bound within the pages of this book are fond memories of the invaluable training and great happiness we have found at Notre Dame. As we turn these pages in the years to come, we will see once again the devoted teachers and friends, and the happy scenes of our carefree youth. Today, as we the Class of '62, leave these sacred halls of ivy and set out upon the stormy sea of life we place our little barks under the special protection of the ''Queen of the Sea and beseech our Blessed Lady to guide and protect us until we reach the eternal harbor--the haven of her Divine Son. We bid farewell, but our hearts will ever re- maintrue tothe ideals of our beloved Alma Mater. Neither you nor any of us are ever through learning; and this appraisal will be a wonderful way to learn. This is not bookish knowledge, yet most important, - learning to know ourselves. All of us make mistakes; but these mistakes can be stepping-stones to success, no matter in which avocation we enter. These years demanded hard work and sacrifice on the part of your parents, your teachers, yourselves. We sincerely hope that they were not in vain. As a matter of fact, the good will and the splendid spirit you showed, particularly in your last years, afford us some guarantee that they were most profita- ble, and that you will live up to the convictions acquired. This is the best ''Thank You you can say; say it not with your lips only but with your way of life. Your Catholic heritage must remain for youall your most valued treasure. Learn to appreciate itever more and be faithful to it Education is a preparation for life: this heritage then must be lived; never set it aside. To each and every one of you our heartfelt congratulations. Our good wishes and prayers will accompany you always. Walk ever with God and Mother Mary! L. J. Boissonneault, S.M. ame Bi a : . 4 ey. NR The students of Notre Dame High School exhibit their interest in the spiritual as well as the social aspects of the C. Y.O. VS ae A memorable event of the senior yearisthe Blessing of Class Rings, symbol of the bond which exists be- tween the graduates of N. D.H. andtheir Alma Mater. Richard Thorne and James Desharnais welcome William Coviello to Notre Dame High. Keeping abreast with World Affairs and controversial issues, Ann Sena eagerly looks forward to the current issue of NEWSWEEK. Hats off to Frank Connors, Joyce Wagner, and James Desharnais who more than tripled their quota in the yearbook drive. Nurse willI ever grow? The principle that ''there is more joy in giving than in receiving is true of all who are affilia- ted with Notre Dame High School. It is through the tireless efforts and devotedness of such in- defatigable people as Mrs. Paquet, Mrs. Girou- ard, Mr. Convy, Mr. Boyle and Mr. Goulet, that our extra-curricular activities take ona family spirit that is ''sans pareil'' in the realm of music, sports, excursions, and social func- tions. May they be rewarded a hundredfold by the Giver of gifts. a ts ._ =-— =, Sexton, Setar Sates Sexton Se AA AN | gis y —s ® - Leaving Cambridge by Trailways 2 ; ee View from Observatory Tower | of the ; Empire State Building United Nations Headquarters I - Lunch at Cyprus Grill, Middletown, Co CITY og Viewed at’ §'@ St. Patrick's Cathedral ‘ V.1.P.'s at the White House New Englanders ? ae G | ' pee As recipients of the CARDINAL CUSHING AWARD in the N.
