As grown-up young ladies, we attended our first school dance, Autumn Nocturne , and then, in January, we joined the rest of the student body in Oriental Gardens . During this year we came under the direction of three other members of the faculty: Sister Marie Celine who threatened us with the dissection of a frog in her Biology classg Miss Doherty who coached our teams in their C. Y. O. strugglesg and Mrs. Shanahan who encouraged us to see the latest release of Julius Caesar, even though we understood Shakespeare thoroughly! As the Seniors began their Day of Recollect- ion, we played hostesses at the traditional breakfast. We wonder if some of those Seniors

Seaaru. icult steps toward growing up. As sophisticated Sophomores, we met two people who made quite an impression upon us. Our class teacher, Sister Mary, greeted us with a smile, but of course we were warned not to set one foot in the class room via the fire-escape on a rainy day. Imagine what would happen to the floor! We were told that we would soon meet our new principal, Sister Francis Loretto, and we looked forward to our first assembly with many whispered predictions.
