Auxiliary Bishop of Buffalo V Our Lady ' s School IN 1951 Notre Dame held classes in Saint Anthony ' s School with two Sisters of Mercy and the Reverend Jo- seph Jensen as principal. In late October Father Jensen was taken ill. The late Rever- end John E. Nugent took over until December when the pres- ent principal, the Reverend David P. Herlihy came. In September, 1952, the students moved into the new building at the corner of Rich- mond and Union with Father Herlihy as principal, five Holy Cross Sisters, two Con- solata Fathers and a diocesan priest. September, 1953, brought another class to Notre Dame as well as another diocesan priest and three new sisters. 1954 came. The first sen- ior class was formed. There are two more diocesan priests, five new sisters, and a lay math teacher. Now, as the very first graduation ap- proaches, the faculty numbers eighteen, and the high school uses the whole building.
