Jimzofvolassl-Irstofuj As the birds began their autumnal migration, we, the Juniors returned with summer memories to our dear Notre Dame High. This school year so eagerly anticipated was delayec by the flood which temporarily crippled our town. However, we soon compensated for lost time ----- intent as we were onhmaking our Junior year a very fruitful one. Qiite conscious of the need for able leaders the class elected: Armand DeGrenier, president for the third con- secutive yearg Pauline Racicot, vice-president, Omer Guay, treasurer, and Judith L'Ecuyer, secretary. Our social success we assured by re-electing the social committee composed of Richard Giguerre, chairman and his assistants: Gloria Proulx, Donald Charpentier, and Lorraine Brunelle. Richard and his staff have meticulously executed their responsibility of making our monthly dances a success. The sorrow of losing some of our classmates was counterbalanced by the joy of receiving into our ranks three new members: Edwina Tardif and Raymond Cyr from Van Buren, Maine and Paul Trahan of Worcester, who returns to us after a six year's absence. Our pride surged high on learning that Armand DeGrenier was also elected president of our Catholic Youth Council with Norman Ledoux another member of our class as vice- president. In other school activities we find John Depres and Ronald Richard playing for our var- sity basketball team, while Pauline Racicot and Edwina Tardif are enthusiastic cheerleaders of N.D. The classical course students work intently at their individual science project for the School Science Fair, while the commercial students are diligently practicing in order to merit certificates of accomplishment and efficiency. As the days rolled into November, the Bishop Wright Declamation contest found our class well represented by Omer Guay and Gloria Dumas. Omer Guay was also awarded second place in the semi-finals of a French Declamation Contest. December claimed our class members for an active part in a concert and play in honor of Sister Pierre-d'Avila, our kind superior. With January came the moment long awaited by any high schooler--the ordering of our class rings. Quite special do we consider ourselves as we admire its blue spinel ceramic stone. Delivery was promised for March. Extensive plans for the Senior Prom are now under way and we hope that it will be a tribute to our upper- classmen. If our predictions are accurate the final months of this school year will be as fruit- ful to us as the first have been. To Sister Marie-de-la-Reparation, our devoted homeroom teacher, and to all the other teachers who have contributed in making this year wonderful, I wish to express heartfelt thanks in the name of the class of 57 . May God reward you in all His own divine way. Ronald Richard 24
