REVEREND SISTER EUZABETII DE HONGRIE Vllorlt, ltnowledge, pleasure and the pursuit of God through his scientific marvels were the predominant elements behind the superb guidance and teaching of Sister Elizabeth de Hongrie. Her years at Notre Dame High School have left a memory as pleasant as it is indelible in the minds of all her past students. Though lack of equipment handicapped our lab per- iods, we managed a successful year and put on a science fair worthy of note under her re- markable leadership. A crowded classroom made the teaching of geometry a heavy burden. Nevertheless, geometry was a class success. For the many accomplishments above men- tioned, and for many more never disclosed, we of Notre Dame High School are inex- pressibly grateful to you, Sister Elizabeth de Hongrie. As the students of Notre Dame High School became scientifically prohcient through your instructions, dear teacher, so also did they grieve at your departure. Your vows of obedience to God and to your superiors left you no alternative when you were asked to leave in late August 1954, for Laconia, New Hampshire. You left Southbridge, Massachu- setts, but your memory stayed on and it will ever linger at the High School where you spent many years. Wfe can earnestly say that without this small tolaen ot our gratitude, the 55,' edition ol' lyEtoile, would be incomplete. In the name of the Notre Dame High School Student Body, 1 say: God willing, may you some day return to Notre Dame High School, South- bridge, lX'lassachusctts to enjoy the new building you helped so much to plan.
