azewafwl Finem coronat opus As a star climaxes his career in the finale of his greatest play, we, the Seniors of Notre Dame's class of '53, pour into this publication of l'Etoi1e far more than words and photos can express. L'Etoile, star of the morn', has guided us from our first days as High School students. We Wish our Yearbook to be an expression of deep and sincere gratitude:- gratitude to our dear Sister Superior to Whom this year's publication of l'Etoile is dedicated, gratitude to our teachers for patience, both untiring and admirable, for solicitude so helpful, gratitude to one another for making this year our happiest as a class with a homey'l atmosphere, and last but far from least, gratitude to our Alma Mater, for memoirs that will al- ways Warm the hearts of each and everyone of us, Seniors of '53. As you, dear reader, Whoever you may be, turn the pages of this volume, you Will find embedded there, the reason Why leaving our dear Alma Mater creates such an emptiness in our hearts. Realize for one moment what We are leaving . . , a devoted administration, true friends, and a spirit that has been part of us through our High School career. We, Graduates of '53, sincerely regard this volume as a climax and finale of our lives as High School students. In it we have gathered all the souvenirs and reminiscences which we will cherish and regard highly in the album of our prized possessions because these represent truly the best years of our lives.
