As we walked on through our four scholastic years - the best years of our lives - we, the Seniors, often stumbled on the way toward the pin- nacle of our efforts - graduation. It was then that we needed encourage- ment and moral support, and it was then, that, from out of the shadows of charity and humility, came a prayer, a sacrifice, a confession. As we labored through months of hard work, it was then that our minds and souls demanded spiritual nourishment - a divine manna - and always, there was a consecrated hand holding the White Host over a golden chalice as we knelt at the altar rail - humbly - to receive Holy Communion. As we marched forth through days of happiness - glorious days - when life and the world seemed so right - it was then that we knelt at the foot of the altar, uniting ourselves with our priest at the Mass - his and ours - MY LORD AND MY GOD. This is a tribute to you, Father Pelletier, Father Lucier and Father Page - our curates, our friends. To you, Father Pelletier, goes our deepest gratitude for the many improvements you have made since your arrival at Notre Dame, but mostly for the introduction of our fine athletic program. May God bless you! And to you, Father Lucier, we extend our deepest appreciation for being such a wonderful leader as chaplain of the Children of Mary. If we have grown to love our heavenly Mother so dearly, our affection is accredited to your own untiring, unselfish devotion to her. May you continue your zealous, apostolic work for many, many years to come! And to you, Father Page, there isn't much we can say because Words cannot measure the depth of gratitude that lies within our hearts. Under your guidance, We have made L'ETOILE a publication to be proud of - a book we shall cherish for the rest of our lives. If it were not for you, these pages would bear no significance, for you are truly the soul of our efforts. By means of your leadership in this endeavor, you have symbolized the strife that one must take in order to attain a lofty ideal. You have suc- ceeded in spiritualizing both our yearbook and our lives. The best we can do is this - a prayer and Thanks for everything. Dear Curates, at the moment of the Consecration at your Mass, as you lift your brow and your heart toward the Great Redeemer, remember that you are not alone, remember that the Class of '52 is there - at your side - all of us - and hear us as we lift our hearts, in adoration, with yours and say . . . MY LORD AND MY GOD. Genevieve Hetu, '52.
