O People, parishes, and pastors realize an ideal f , 7 St. Iudes new Church now rises to lofty heights as the old Church becomes a central hall for the larqe parish in one corner of this fast-growing northeast area. Father loseph Ordinq, the present Pastor of St. lu:ie's, worked too, to the realization of the dream of the late Cardinal Mooney. The title on the cornerstone read Notre Dame High School, l954 A. D. Many consider this the beginning of Notre Dame, but how mistaken they are. Our school began many years before this in the minds of the priests and people of the six parishes shown on this and the following pages. The boys graduating from their parochial grade schools at this time were faced with a limited choice and many were forced to enter a public high school. St. Veronica's old church and the new became a glowing tribute to the the Pastors who wanted a Central High School for the area, found time late Father Leo Huver, who in spite of his hard efforts as Chairman of for both, work on St. Vercnica's and work in behalf of Notre Dame x T' rf T H ' I ,I I I U Y ,,,n,,uu
