The legendary Juggler of Notre Dame , after whom this publication is named, characterizes another fine pursuit of perfection. Seeking the best way to wor- ship God, through Mary, he learned that the finest thing he had to offer was his own purification of his God-given abilities - juggling. And so he iuggled for Our Lady. lt is appropriate, then, that Catholic students should have a fine appreciation of that same quest for personal excellence. Mary teaches us humility, showing us that no one is good enough to say that he can't be better. The most important thing for us to keep in mind, then, is the need to challenge our abilities, striving each day, each hour, and every second to perfect ourselves. The months and years that we spend at Notre Dame provide us with a challenge to our powers, spiritual and mental, -and physical. The Marist Fathers, ably assisted by proven laymen, teachers, concentrate on developing in each indi- vidual the will to strive constantly for perfection. This challenge is the theme of our studies at Notre Dame and underlies every activity, religious, academic, or extra-curricular. Thus, as you go through the pages of the 1958 Juggler, remember that each activity pictured is an effort on the part of students for an ever-increasing self- perfection, through Mary, for the greater glory of God. 3 7466 7757 Mmm 7757-55 7755 may all Introduction ,. .,.,..., . reshmanr Classes ........ ecord Hops ....,.,,...,............. ootball Introduction .....,.., l.D. vs Lutheran .,.......A........,... tudent Council ..,....i.................... l.D. vs St. Joseph, DeLaSalle Iatholic Youth Week ........i.......,. l.D. vs Salesian ..,..,..,..4.......,. 20-21 22-29 30-31 32 33 34 35 36 37 Homecoming CND. vs Austinj N.D. vs Cathedral ...,...,..,.,....., .,..........
